leather journal from melodies graphiques paris

i’m not an expert in many things. but as someone who has journaled almost every day for the past 10 years, i know journals pretty well. i’ve tried every variation i could find.

i wandered into melodies graphiques with my friend londyn when we were in paris together last fall. i found this handmade, leather-bound journal. i only bought one for myself (something i deeply regret) and one for my friend, davis, as a present for his upcoming birthday.

i can say with confidence that this is the best journal i’ve ever used. i’ve never been able to find anything in the US that even comes close (in quality or in beauty), and i’ve looked. i’ve heard davis refer to the journal as “the best birthday present i’ve ever been given.”

this journal is such a special artifact of my life. i often think of going back to paris with the sole purpose of buying a suitcase full of melodies graphiques journals.

best for: when you’re in paris (especially when you find yourself in le marais) and you want to get something extra special—for your loved ones, or for yourself.
